Hello! I have an old hard drive. It still works but barely. I want to copy some data from it to new hard drive, but I am not sure will I be able to do that because my old hard drive lacks SMART. I am afraid that I will have some problems. I kindly ask you to tell me more about this, if you know, of course. Thanks!

Hello! SMART is diagnostic software that is built into hard drive and it can intercept around 70 errors and send info about that errors to operating system. Therefore it has no impact on coping, saving or any other usual hard drive activity. So, you can copy your data without any troubles.
