My new card, the ATI 9800 pro 256, seems to be a little too hot, and I think that's what's causing me graphic problems in some games. Monitors show about 60-something degrees Celsius, that's too much, isn't it? Seeing as how it's brand new and everything, I don't suppose cleaning it would help much, would it? What else can I do to keep its temperature down?

The first and easiest thing you need to check would be if its fan is working correctly. If it's stuttering or if it grates against something as it spins, it's not doing it's job. Also, I guess some thermal paste wouldn't hurt, would it? Finally, search the net for expectable temp ranges for your card, and then if it exceeds them, take it in for replacement, since it's defective.
