| Yesterday, my computer suddenly stopped working. I try few things to repair it but I everything failed. Therefore, I brought it to computer service. From everything they told me, only thing I understood is that I have to convert ps/2 keyboard to USB keyboard and everything will work. Why is that? |

| You obviously did not understand them well. I can just assume what they told you. From your symptoms, I think that you have a chipset problem. Every motherboard has two chipsets on it and one is responsible for controlling peripherals. In your case, that chipset is probably dead and they put you additional USB controller. Now, if you want to use your keyboard you will have to buy a converter from ps/2 to USB. You avoid that problem with your mouse because you probably already have an USB mouse. Anyway, you can work like that for a while but when you collect enough money replace it because it will most certainly fail completely. |
