OK, here's the situation, bear with me as I explain. I have this game, you see, and being an older one (cca 1999), it came on 4 CDs. Now, I really, really want to make them into a DVD installation. I tried by making .ISO images and then burning them to a DVD-R, but that didn't work (well, obviously). Now, as I understand, there's something I need to do to the .ISO or .BIN files before I burn them to DVD? Or is it after? And what exactly do I have to do to make the game work as a normal DVD installation? Wikipedia had nothing on this topic. Thanks in advance for any help!

Well, here's how I do it, there may be other ways, but they're bound to be a little more complicated. The DVD you burned the images to is still usable the way you want it (sort of), you just need a little utility to "mount" those images so that the computer thinks it's installing the game from a CD. Try Daemon Tools, or, if you're using Nero to burn, you should already have Nero Image Drive. When you start this program, you use it to locate each CD image on your DVD in turn, and mount them as "virtual" CD drives E, F, G, etc. That may not be exactly what you're looking for, but it's the only way I know.
