| Is there any way to convert Mac files to PC. Recently, I ran into the very annoying problem. I have transferred some files from my Mac to my colleagues PC via LAN. He was not able to open them. Worst then that, when he sent them back to me I wasnt able to open them either. Its just simple documents, not executables. |

| Mac files have a different structure than a PC files. They have, so called, double-fork or Mac binary structure. That means Mac files has data part and resource part. In resource part is stored information about operative system, author name, etc. When copied to PC this files are split in two parts (data and resource) and resource part is usually lost or copied as hidden file. Only plain text files can be copied this way. For other files (except binaries) there is a free tool called MacBinary. |
