I have noticed that one computer in my network is continuously broadcasting something. There are four computers in this small network connected over D-Link switch hub. Three are working fine, but fourth sends packets all the time. It is not some heavy traffic, just small packets. I have also noticed that this activity starts immediately upon turning on computer and does not stop until computer is powered off. What do you think?
Well, we can rule out viruses because activity is there even when windows is not active. SO, the only option we had left is hardware malfunction. Try to change network card on that computer whit one you are sure it is OK and see if data transfers will stop. Other option is cable. In fact, I have seen once such a problem and it was faulty cable. When we replaced it everything was back to normal.
