Hello! Cooler on my processor has finished its useful life and I need to replace it. My friend told me that I need to put thermal paste between cooler and processor when I change it. I do not know why that is needed and he does not know, too. So, I hope that you will tell me why this is needed. Thank you!

Hello! Well, first of all, between processor and cooler are rough spots and if you do no put thermal paste between them, in this rough spots air will collect and it will cause overheating problem. On the other hand, thermal paste between cooler and processor helps in heat dissipation, too.
