| I'm getting this message from my new Linksys router, and I don't know how to avoid it. It says, more precisely: "You are connected to the access point, but the internet cannot be found." But you see, the weird thing is, I do have a working internet connection, and everything seems to be working. I just can't get the message to not show. I tried reinstalling the Linksys network software, but that didn't work. The router is wrt54gs, and the OS is windows 98. Any ideas? |

| Actually, I had a very similar problem, though not with the same model. I tried Linksys tech support, and after a few attempts they seemed to have given up, and said something along the lines of "your router doesn’t go well with Win 98, you might want to try changing one or both of them". Of course, I wasn't thrilled to hear that, but in the end, the solution was to delete all the tools that came with the router/adapter, and just use the Windows network wizards to set everything up. It worked the same way, but the annoying alert was gone. |
