I have bought new computer with CD burner recently. This is my first computer so I am not too proficient with it. Currently, I am confused about CD type to use for writing. I know that this question might sound silly to you but I would like to be sure before I write any CD. I really do not want to break something. Thank you.
Generally speaking there are only two CD types. One is CD-R and another one is CD-RW. CD-R can be used only for writing and when you reach its maximum capacity then it can not be used any more for storing data. On the other hand, CD-RW can be used multiple times for writing. You can delete data stored on this type of media and then write something else on them. CD-RW are (again generally) not as reliable as CD-R and should be avoided for long term data storage.
