I have this ugly problem with both of computers. I have two computers connected with the Twisted pair cable and both of them don’t have local network access. When I open the my network places folder, I can see only one computer, the one which is trying to browse. I have all things set up properly, the workgroup name as the IP addresses are ok, the Wizard has done with all necessary things regarding network connection setup…. No matter what I try, I can’t make this LAN connection to work. How to determine what is wrong? Thanks in advance.

Do you have any firewalls running in the background? This is often the cause for similar problems like yours is. Also, you might want to know, Windows with sp2 and Windows with sp1 sometimes just can’t establish network connection, because of Service Pack 2 security hotfixes. Also, you might try to check out that cable, because bad wiring could be responsible. Rebuild those connectors again.
