My Compaq laptop won't recognize a Linksys wireless card I put it. Actually, it doesn't even detect it, so the drivers I have (and the newer version I downloaded) are useless. I tried the card on another machine (Same OS), and it was detected instantly. I really don’t know what to do here. Any suggestions?

Well, you've got two options here: Either the port in which you're trying to fit the device is malfunctioning, or it is disabled in BIOS. If it's the former, you should just take the laptop in for repair (don’t suppose your warranty's still valid, is it?). If it's the latter, you should try enabling it in BIOS. I don’t know what version you have, but you should be able to locate the settings easily enough.
