Compaq Quick Restore question

I own Compaq 5150wm. Recently hard drive started to fail. I am getting windows protection error and I am unable to write on C partition. Besides that whenever I try to run defragmenter or scandisk utility system hangs and restart is needed. I bought new hard drive yesterday and I would like to know if I can use Compaq Quick Restore CDs to restore system on new hard drive.

Most definitely the answer is yes, you can use Quick Restore on new hard drive. You will need Quick Restore CD. When computer starts press num lock key. On the screen text will appear telling about Quick restore. Press caps lock key. After text stops flashing press num lock again. You will see welcome screen. Here you have to press ctrl+Q. At the end computer will ask for your load code and model number. This is all about procedure of Quick restore.
