Compaq Presario problem with OS

Here is my problem. I have lost original recovery CD that came with my Compaq Presario. I had to reinstall Windows because my previous system was full of viruses. But installing OS turned to be a real nightmare. I am not able to have decent graphics and I am not able to hear sound. I am trying to install XP. Do you have any hints that could help me?

This is not problem with OS but with drivers. You have probably integrated sound and video card with motherboard. This can make some real problems when you do not have original drivers. You should visit manufacturer web site and download drivers for your Compaq Presario. At least try to find drivers for motherboard because they will have drivers for sound and video card bundled.
