Hello. I have a problem with Compaq Evo n800w screen. Screen is dimmed and I can see things on it only if I look very closely. I have connected laptop to external monitor and picture is crystal clear there. I guess that something is wrong with laptop LCD screen or with some settings. I would like to know what is exactly wrong with this screen and how can I fix this problem.

Hello. Compaq Evo n800w is not different from other laptops when it comes to issues with LCD screens. You have done right when you connected laptop to external monitor because you eliminated possibility that video card is bad. According to your description I could say that back light lamp on screen has died. You will have to change it (or change whole screen. Depends of laptop model). Just to notify you that back light lamp is quite expensive part.
