| Hello. Any computer speed, including your Compaq Armada E500, is affected primarily with programs and services that are running in background (if we rule out hardware, of course). You should check what programs are starting with Windows and then disable unnecessary ones. You can check this if you go to Start - Run and then type msconfig in run dialog. Hit enter and in msconfig dialog box disable all unnecessary programs. There are, also, good articles on internet about disabling unnecessary processes and services so you should look for one. This subject is too exhaustive to be treated here. |
