Clicking on download link causes IE6 shuts down

Hi. I am having weird problem with Internet Explorer 6. When I click on any download link Internet Explorer 6 closes without any warning or error report. I have checked this on many web sites but behavior is the same. When I right click on link and choose “Save target as” Internet Explorer 6 reports it can not access web site. I am lost here. Do you have any suggestions?

I have to be honest and say I have never encountered similar behavior. It could be caused by virus infection or some other malicious software or it could be caused by corrupted Internet Explorer 6 files. Run full system virus and spyware scan and see if something comes out. Download IEFIX utility and see what it can do. At last install some other web browser and check if it acts the same way as IE6. After this post back with results and we will try to figure something out if above steps do not help.
