| Hello there. I have this very scary problem with my Notebook. First, there was a scratching sound coming out of my laptop, then there was clicking sound which finally degraded my laptop performance to the maximum. I have called the Hewlett Packard support team and they told me to perform the System Restore, which I did. And that solved the problem ‘till the next couple reboots, but that was all. Now, the situation seems to be more worse than before. I don’t want to call them no more. Instead of that I am heading forward to find the right solution. Any suggestion should welcome. Thanks in advance. |

| Hi. Well, notebook computers, just as desktops, do have hard drives. And hard drives do get malfunctioned from time to time. Clicking noise can come only out of the hard drive, I think. How old your notebook is? Was your notebook dropped sometimes? There is a mechanism inside with very high speed write-read laser head. Very similar like ordinary CD-RW, but much, much faster. Try reformatting the drive, and if that doesn’t help, there is no other option for you but to replace the hard drive for another one. |
