I think that my DVD RW drive requires some good cleaning. I have NEC model by the way, and it is one year old. Every third or second burned DVD disc won’t open after burning in my DVD, which makes no sense. I can burn them without any trouble, but I can’t read them with the same drive, while other DVD devices are able without any problem. SO, is it hard to clean those laser lens? Can I do that by my self ,or I should let someone else more experienced to do that for me? Thanks in advance.

Now, that’s very softy job to do. It requires a lot of patience and very calm hand by the way. Plus, the tool for it. Microscopic tool. I think that you won’t be able to do that by your self. And if you decide to do that anyway, it will cost you maybe even more than to buy a new one. They are now around 30 euros or even less, so think about it twice. Are you going to clean the old one or buy the new one, for almost exact amount?
