I've downloaded many .flv files and converted them to .wmv so I can play them via Windows Media Player. I have a Dell D600 laptop running XP and a new Acer desktop with Vista, and I've noticed on both computers that sometimes the WMV files magically disappear...and I don't mean from the Media Player playlist. They disappear off my computers, without winding up in my Recycle Bin! They're just plain gone! Now I'm afraid that I will have to backup the videos every time I add them for fear that I'll lose them.

Has anyone else encountered this? Could Media Player be "eating" these videos? Is this a DRM issue? I would think with DRM, the file would still be there but the video would just refuse to play.
