Cannot upload songs to iRiver T10 MP3 player

Hello! I have iRiver 1 GB T10 MP3 player and I have a problem with it. I am running Windows XP Professional operating system with Service Pack 2 installed and I have installed Windows media Player 10. When I attached iRiver to USB port, I heard just one ding instead two dings and I could not uploaded songs to it. Is this connected to operating system and WMP 10? Thanks!

Hello! Well, I do not think that this is some software problem. I think that you have hardware problem here. I am telling you this because you told that you heard only one ding when you attached iRiver mp3 player. I suggest you to uninstall all USB ports in Device Manger and reboot computer. This should help you (for me worked many times before).
