Cannot turn off old Compaq Presario

I have my Compaq Presario for 2 years. I use it for saving my data, meetings, and for my paperwork. Now I have big problem. Cannot turn off old Compaq Presario! I really dont know what to do. Can someone advice me what to do? Any advice is welcomed. I am grateful for every help that you will able to give me.

You cannot turn off old Compaq Presario?! I dont have any version of Compaq Presario, so I am not able to tell you what should you do with it. I can say you that I had the same problem with my PC. It was working just fine, and then suddenly it couldnt be turned off. The message : Shutting off was on the screen, but nothing happened. I really didnt know what to do. So I restarted computer, and after that it turned off. But after two days the same thing happened. My friend told me that I have virus, and I had to reinstall Windows. So that can also be your problem.
