Cannot install Civilization 4

I can not install Civilization 4. When I insert Civilization 4 installation CD auto run starts but then installer gives me an error message saying : Error Code: -5009 : 0x8000ffff. This is rather cryptic for me and I only know that I can not install and play Civilization 4. Can you help me with this problem?

This error is usual for corrupted installation files. You can try two things. First, clean the temporary folder. Location of temporary folder can be found by reading TEMP system variable. Open command prompt and type set temp command (without quotes) to see its location. Go there and delete everything from that folder. Second possibility is corrupted InstallShield files. In this case you will have to go to folder where InstallShiled runtime is located (usually C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Professional\RunTime) and delete file named IsProBE.tlb. After this restart the installation process.
