| Hello! I am guessing that your laptop in a way is wishing to be connected by some cable instead catching the signal through air. You suppose to get some instructions how to turn wireless adapter on so check did you done it right. Not insulting your intelligence just usually those cards are using a lots of power so they are switching it off an on all the time to save battery life. There suppose to be a off/on switch on the case someplace or the function could be working by using a F or FN key. After you have confirmed that select your network by clicking it on the wireless icon on the task bar. If you have any problem opening the page then you must be certain that AV that you are using is not messing up the thing, ‘cause some of them are asking for IP addresses. Click on the wireless icon , right click on it select “view network connections”, pick one and then you’d need to enter any encryption code. Also there is a question of kind of wireless network you use, ‘cause usually that means that you should have a password (WEP or WPA), or maybe in other case a MAC address filter. So some other possibilities are coming in option in case that you are not catching any kind of wireless network presence, like: router and laptop are using the same protocol or same channel, laptop is set to use SSID you made in setting up the router or router is broadcasting SSID, all WIP/WPA security is turned off temporary, all MAC/IP filtering is turned off, DHCP is enabled the router. Not likely but if MS router and the USR router are both defective then you need to find good computer repair shop. Hope I managed to connect your laptop finally ! |
