Cannot create home network

Hello. I cannot create home network. I have two computers connected to router via Cat5 LAN cable. Both computers can access internet but they do not see each other in home network. I have set them fixed IP addresses and allowed only these IP address on router. I would really appreciate if you could give me some hints how to solve this problem.

You have created home network. Problem is only with configuring certain things to make it fully functional. When two computers are unable to see each other on home network then first suspect is a firewall. You will have to open ports in firewall or to disable them completely for the network to function. I think that when you configure firewalls then computers will be able to see each other.
