Hello. I have a very annoying problem with network password on my Windows 98 machine. When I boot computer a dialog appears, before anything else, asking me for username and password. I would like to know is there any way of canceling network password access. After all, this is my home network and I do not need it.

Hi there. This thing with network password required before booting is a very annoying in home network environment. Fortunately, there is a way to cancel it. Right click on Network Neighborhood icon and choose properties. In box that appears change Primary Network Logon to "Windows Logon" from "Client for Microsoft Network Logon" and reboot computer. If Logon box appears again identify yourself with user ID but leave password blank and you will not be prompted for password any more.
