It’s a specific problem. I have an old machine that is not capable of running an OS higher than Win98. I took off the hard disk from my regular machine, full of software, to put some of it on the old machine. It gets normally detected upon POST, but can’t see it in Windows. I have tried all the master/slave combinations.

Your hard disk was most likely formatted in NTFS file system (used by NT, Win 2K, Win XP, and Windows Vista) which can not be read from within Win9x and WinME systems. You need a special program called NTFS reader which will make your HDD readable under your old computer’s Operating System.
