| My computer has been slowing down often lately, with these sounds coming from the HD like something was working in the background… it's happened before, but I was able to just close the rogue processes from the Task Manager, and everything would go back to normal. Now when I try that (press Ctrl-Alt-Del), nothing happens! I don't know what's going on, I don't want to restart every few hours to deal with this… |

Well, the easy solution would be to try Ctrl + Shift + Esc instead of the tried and true Ctrl + Alt + Del, maybe a key is just malfunctioning.
But more importantly, you need to deal with the problem at the source, not just use Task Manager for temporary relief. Check for spyware and viruses – if you don't have any tools that do that, search for free scans online. |
