Can't connect via wireless thru Netgear router otherwise. This came completely out of the blue, no settings or configuration files have been tempered with AFAIK. Suddenly, I can't connect – actually it shows the connection icon, but no throughput whatsoever, no browser will connect, mail clients don't work. But when I boot XP in Safe Mode, it works again! Has anyone else had this situation before? Possible solutions?

What safe mode does is, for the most part, disable all the non-essential drivers and similar stuff. I can't imagine what would cause a lack of connectivity here, unless either 1) there's a hardware conflict of some sort, or 2) you have some sort of malware installed. Check for the former using Device Manager (in standard mode), and check for the latter using some of the many free adware scanners available.
