| There is one thing that I know of, that you can try. It used to work for me just fine, when I had similar problem. And believe me, I had it often I used a program called ERD commander. It is a bootable application that you can download from the net and make a bootable CD, so you can boot your system with it. It takes a while for you to boot the system, but it most often repairs the file that was damaged, and replaces it with another one. If it does it, it will let you know, and than you do not have to restore the previous settings, the system will function just fine. If it doesn’t , use restore option, but do back up your files from the system disk to another one. |
