Hi. I have moved to new apartment and I have option to take cable or ADSL broadband Internet here. I have no prior experience with these types of connections because I had only dial up in my previous apartment. I would like to know what is the better option in your opinion – Cable or DSL Internet. Thank you in advance for your time and patience.

Hello. More or less it is the same. Cable is a little faster for the same bandwidth due to its architecture. For example, 256 Kbs download on cable can go up to 32 KB per second while on DSL it can reach only 28-29 KB per second. This proportion stays for higher speeds which means that speed loss will be more significant on higher speeds. On the other hand, DSL can have higher overall speed then cable. You will have to choose option regarding what providers are offering to you.
