CRT vs LCD question

I have a dilemma considering CRT and LCD monitors. I would like to buy new monitor but prices are very different between these two types and CRT monitors have larger panel then LCD for less money. I would also like to play games and watch movies but I have heard that LCD monitors are not as good as CRT when it comes to gaming. On the other hand they look much cooler. Can you give me few hints about this? Should I buy LCD or CRT monitor?

Definitely LCD. There is not some visible difference in gaming performance between modern LCD and CRT monitors. Considering panel size pay attention on the fact that LCD panels have visible area as large as declared on equipment (17 inch monitor has 17 inch visible are) and CRT monitors has smaller visible area (19 inch monitor has around 18,1 inch visible area). LCD monitors are also much easier on the eyes and have better picture quality. They, also, dont emit heat as CRT monitors.
