| Hello! Ok. This is a real topic. First of all CRT monitors are a bit old technology, and they are kind of large too. Their measurements are not to compare with FLAT panel monitors. It means that if you choose to get a FLAT one, then you will be able to save a lot of space on your desk. Secondly, CRT is much cheaper than FLAT monitors. Thirdly, CRTs have more demand for power consumption, about 110 Ws and FLAT ones around 30-40 Ws per hour. That way you see your electrical bill will be less. Also, CRTs do have the tendency to flicker as their refresh rate is lower; this is not the issue with FLAT monitors. Their view size and quality is much, much better. My recommendation is to get a FLAT monitor! Oh! Question about the dead pixels. Well, this is a feature with all FLAT monitors. It is because of the bad transistors. But, manufacturers say one or two are common and allowed. If you see more than that number (color fading or anything similar), you just check your monitor closely, and if you see more than few, take it back! |
