1. I GOT THE BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH SAYING "HD fAILURE IMMINENT", next day no laptop, no power up no lights...zip.
2. the power adapter starts a very faint internal sounding beeping only when I plug it into the laptop.
3. I bought a new hd thinking the old one failed and was dragging out the adapter. Still did not work.
4. brought it in for repair, the dude will do a drive/card/ram removal bay by bay, to try and narrow things down and check the mobo for staples or paperclip grounds.
is this a known failure for compaq... notice a lot of other similar posts...
