Hello! I want to secure my folders in Windows XP and I’ve heard that there is this method of doing that by means of using CLSID codes. I remember seeing an article on the internet about hiding folders and now I can’t remember what is said. Besides, I can’t say that I know exactly what CLSID codes are. Anybody know what I’m talking about?

Yes, I also remember that I’ve heard something about that. My boyfriend is a geek and he is constantly talking about computers, software and similar things I know absolutely nothing about, but still I memorize a tip occasionally. That’s how I remember CLSID codes. As I understand those codes are a series of numbers that you can see when you look in the registry and see that each folder has its CLSID code. CLSID stands for Class ID. So, there is a catch that you just select a folder you want and change the name with the CLSID code for My Computer which is 20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D. And when you try to check the folder location, instead of that folder there is My Computer.
