Hi all! I am having trouble lately with both of my drives, CD and DVD-ROM. The thing is whenever I want to use one of those two to burn some data, it simply refuses to do such a thing. Now, I am getting this thought that my devices are somehow infected and wont work. How can I solve this problem out?

| Hi! One of the first things I say to every computer user is that for every problem there is a solution. Now, it could be due to only two things. Either hardware or software issue. If it is a hardware issue you could easily start thinking buying new ones. If it is a software problem, then lets get going. Have you tried detaching those two drives? No? Well, just for a moment turn your computer off. When you start it go into device manager from the start menu right-click on My computer. There you will find the device manager tab. Enter there and see the icons showing your optical devices. There uninstall both of the devices. Now, just turn off your computer and then reattach your optical drives. If you are a Windows XP user it will find it automatically. This should work. And if doesnt, read the third sentence. |
