CD-R just stopped working

Hello! i have Asus CD ROM. It worked perfectly past few years until this morning. believe it or not it just stopped to work. There is no led light when I push button to open it. it is weird to me, because there were no signs that it would be broken. have you any idea what could be?

Hello! I think that your cd rom is not broken. I think that you have a problem with your IDE cable. I assume that this cable is few years old. Before you buy new cd rom, i suggest you to buy new IDE cable. After that replace it and see if I am right (I am 99 sure that I am).
