Hello! I have Asus CD-RW and I have a problem with it. I have noticed these days that it is just slow. So, I went to Device Manager to try to see what is going on. I have seen that CD RW is set to PIO instead of Ultra DMA 2. Why this happened? How I can fix this? Can you help me? Thank you in advance!
p.s.
I am running Win XP Pro SP2 OS.

Hello! The solution is pretty simple, but you will see that. Anyway, this problem occurred because Windows XP professional operating system automatically drops down optical drive if it notices that it cannot read or burn properly. So, to fix this, go to Device Manger and delete your Asus CD-RW and reboot computer. After that, your CDS-RW will be in Ultra DMA 2 mode again.
