CD-ROM not accessible anymore

Hello! My CD-ROM is making me trouble. If I place some CDs or DVDs in it wont recognize them. What should I do? This was not the issue few days ago? I havent installed any of the new software. Could it be that it has gone bad, got broken or something? It seems to be fine, it opens and ejects without any complications. Please help!

Hi! As always, it could be to due to hardware or software failure. If it is willing to take and eject CDs it means that its still working that part. Why dont you try to remove it completely out? I know that this is my technique to determine the cause of the problems it almost all parts of the computer. Go to control panel and enter into system and then go to device manager. Choose your drive and uninstall its driver. Then reboot and let it find your drive. If that is not helping I suggest you try to blow inside CD-ROMs casing because maybe dust is stuck in it.
