I have recently started with my architecture studies. During my studies, I will need to work in CAD. However, before I install it, I would like to know what are the usual system specifications, in order to get some new component if required. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. It will mean a lot to me.

CAD is pretty demanding program, which no wonder, considering the jobs you can do with it. There is a set of minimum hardware you need to have, and of recommended hardware. I would suggest you having a configuration as close as possible to recommended specs, as it will simply make you more efficient. These specs are Pentium 3.2ghz, 2gb of RAM (although 1, or 1.5gb might still be enough for serious projects), video card with 256mb RAM, preferably GeForce series 8. Also, you would need 19'' monitor (flat is preferable) and 250gb hard disk. It may seem like too much, but this program is worth it.
