I would like to buy new HDD. I had Western Digital hard drive which died unexpectedly. I was very satisfied with it, but I am not too proficient with computer hardware so I need some recommendations about hard drive purchase. I would be very grateful if you could tell me what hard drive to buy.

Western Digital is good choice. You can also purchase Seagate or Hitachi. I hold personal grudge toward Maxtor, so I can not recommend it. Although, many people are satisfied with it. New hard drives are very similar no matter how is manufacturer and you should make a choice according to personal preference.
