I had some issues with power supply unit. It looks like power supply died and I had to replace it. After inspecting other hardware I noticed that video card connector smells like it is burned. I fear to connect new power supply and start computer because I do not know what might happen if video card is bad. I would appreciate some suggestions regarding this problem.

Hello. You will not be able to determine if connector on video card is burned or not unless you try it. Nothing bad will happen if your video card is dead and you connect new power supply and turn on computer. You will just not be able to see anything on monitor. But then you will be sure that you have to replace video card also. I hope it will not come to that.
