I have heard many stories about browser hijacking but I am not sure what it means. I understand it is some security issue but I do not know how serious it is and what are the consequences of this kind of infiltration. I hope you will answer me to this question. I know it is just my curiosity but I would like to learn something.

Hello. Browser hijacking can be easiest explained on simple example of Internet Explorer and home page. When Internet Explorer 6 is hijacked then some malicious software makes unauthorized change of home page and sends you to web page you do not won't every time you start Internet Explorer. Home page changes made this way can not be fixed in conventional way through IE settings but you need to run antispyware program to fix this problem. Unwanted home page is usually some site that advertises various questionable products or a porn web site.
