I have an old 20GB hard drive that use for transporting data around. So, I frequently connect and disconnect this drive. Unfortunately, last time I tried o connect it I have broken one pin on IDE connector. I am afraid to glue it somehow because I think that some shortage might occur and destroy data on hard drive. Is there any way to repair this?

Of course there is a way to repair broken IDE connector. If you are proficient with soldering you could use IDE connector from some old hard drive/CD ROM you are not using any more and solder it to your hard drive. Also, you can try to smolder that single pin, if you have kept it. If you think you will have trouble to fix this then you can take hard drive to any electronic shop and they will repair it for you.
