According to a Department of Trade and Industry's (DTI) 'Information Security Breaches Survey', of 1,000 British companies only 1% use every available method to control access to their systems. Larger companies reported only a small increase in security incidents compared to 2004; businesses using biometrics suffered fewer incidents than those using only software-based token and certificates. Banks led in two-factor authentication. 20% of incidents involve unauthorized access by employees. 6% of companies suffered phishing attacks, and while fraud remained low, it was also the most damaging attack.
