I’ve just bought my first DVD player and I’m not quite sure whether it operates in the same way as CD ROM. My collection of movies is growing every day and it was quite impractical to keep all of them on CDs and DVD seems to be the only reasonable solution. Is there anything I should know about burning DVDs or it’s the same like burning CDs?

I remember that I had to buy DVD because I didn’t have enough space to keep my CDs. When my CD tower was totally cramped I bought DVD and it spared a lot of space and money, because the price of a CD and a DVD is approximately the same and DVD has about six times bigger capacity. The burning procedure is almost the same, but I’ve heard that it’s not recommended to make a multi-session DVD since the top layer is not so developed. So, wait until you have enough material to burn the whole DVD and burn it only once, because I suppose that it’s not so reliable when it’s burned two or three times. And just to remind you to always perform safety check, because of DVD isn’t well recorded you may not be able to watch it. Another thing is not to burn at the highest speed.
