Hello. For around few days already, I didn’t had any possibilities to load any of DVD discs, because the drives wasn’t inside the computer case. Now, when I brought them back in again, they are just not detected by my system. Both of them are connected to the same IDE branch, the BIOS is detecting them quite well, and that tells us that the cables are connected well. What else could be responsible? Thanks in advance.

The first thing that is falling on my mind regarding your situation is Device Manager and the software prohibitions. There is an option to prevent IDE devices from being recognized from the device manager. Open the device manager and take a look over IDE/ATA atapi controllers, and see what rules are assigned under advanced settings for that particular branch of yours.
