Hi. I have bought new Acer Aspire with Vista home Premium installed. It is very nice, I like Aero, but before this, I was very satisfied with my programs on Windows 98 and I did some little coding under DOS. So, there I was, new partition was created and prepared, blank. Then fdisk came, all of the sudden, Windows 98 refused to install as secondary operating system. I tried several times, no luck. I though it was something because 98 don't know what NTFS is. So, I gave up. But, after restart, I had nothing except blank screen and blinking cursor... Help.

Well, you have two options. TO use your Acer Aspire recovery discs, and to revert back as it was. Or to use Windows Vista install disc and to select option to repair installation from within recovery console. You have destroyed master boot record with windows 98, as it uses completely different methodology than Vista does. While you wree doing that, you saw that windows 98 was blind to discover the rest of the hard drive? However, Windows 98 can run with Vista on the same PC on the same hard drive, but in that case, Vista can't resident as primary OS.
