Hi there people. I got serious problem with my system. Suddenly something went wrong and I got blue screen with corrupted or damaged ntfs.sys file. Now, I cant boot into any mode. No matter what I try, my computer shows this screen with the exact the same message every time. What is the cause of this, and is there any way to set things straight without installing the new fresh Windows? Thanks.

This unpleasant situations are very hard to solve without re-installing the system. There are BSoD issues with the new installed hardware, bad Ram memory or corrupted file system, which means you need to perform recovery task of important system files. If you added some new hardware recently, plug it out. Insert the XP CD, and set the BIOS to boot from CD. Try to boot using windows recovery console. Press r when prompted, instead of performing new installation. Youll need to expand the ntfs.sys file to root, which residents inside the i386 directory on a cd.
