How often should I repair Vista images? I am using Vista enterprise, and I am often refreshing the configuration. I have a AMD athlon 2600 with 1 Gb RAM and integrated video card, and sometimes it want see the activation. How to incorporate newest activation, and to maintain system stability? As you all know, Vista is fast to shutdown, something like 4 s. I think that it affects system stability and I want to repair it.

First thing about Vista is that images could be maintained on a regular basis. You must update your registry in order to get good results. Try to modify waittokillsericetime with different values. 1000, 3000, and 5000. The default value is 2500. Than go to the memory section and see if the buffer button is checked. Use device manager to set different values, and to update image. You can also re-enable access time by using memory utility. When Vista first appeared, everybody thought that they must learn it like Linux, but its different. You dont have to use console, you can do everything manually. Thanks god for that Check this feature: Right click on the USB features. Find the power button. Uncheck the sleep button and your computer will automatically go off to save power. Of course, you can find bunch of stuff in the registry, but dont play too much with it.
