I need to convert a document in .pdf format but I don’t know of any other .pdf converter except Adobe Acrobat and it’s very expensive. I just need it for one document so I don’t want to spend that much money on a single-use software. Could anyone recommend me some cheaper .pdf converter that works ok?

When I had a similar issue I googled for "pdf converter" and found more than 20 applications. Unfortunately, it turned out that neither of them is able to convert the hyperlinks and the document I made was full of hyperlinks so none of these programs were of any use to me. In the end, I found a free open source office suite called Open Office (openoffice.org). It is a set of programs very similar to the M$ Office applications, but its word processor can also convert .pdf docs and it also converts hyperlinks.
